PHILADELPHIA, PA: As an official part of the first Avenue of the Arts Week, the Philadelphia Music Alliance, Avenue of the Arts, Inc. and the I.A.T.S.E. Local Union 8 are proud to announce MAKE THE STARS SHINE, on Philadelphia’s Walk of Fame, Friday October 6th from 10:00 am – 11:30.

MAKING THE STARS SHINE will highlight the rich musical heritage of Philadelphia as volunteers from I.A.T.S.E. Local Union 8, Philadelphia’s music community including Walk of Fame Honorees John DeBella (2023), Ryan Fleur from the Philadelphia Orchestra (2019), Joe Nicolo (2017), Founder Larry Magid and more, as the Friends of the Avenue of the Arts clean and polish the bronze plaques along the esteemed Walk of Fame.

Established in 1986, the Walk of Fame, a creation of the Philadelphia Music Alliance, is a must-see tourist attraction on Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts. “The Walk of Fame is the City’s most impressive public monument – and a forever legacy — to all those who have made Philadelphia a great music city,” said Mark Schulz, Managing Director of the Philadelphia Music Alliance.

Located along Broad Street’s Avenue of the Arts, this series of over 150 bronze commemorative plaques honors Philadelphia area musicians and music professionals who have made a significant contribution to the world of music.
